only leafless poles of shadow trunks
betray the murk of algae-ridden depths.
Near the door
a mix of leaves–
daubs of green gray green yellow gold,
some feathering the water.
Then green gray green green black
at a distance from the door
to a far flat field of murk
of lessening, lessening light.
