Looking Down, Being In

This is a book.

I know its insides, its voice

made into print. The title

familiar now. I have it

memorized. I am aware

of its structure and general

flow. Its mind.

That is a frightened girl.

I open the door and she is startled.

Her face goes simple

Her hands rush to fold on her chest.

I know I am big,

sudden. My body.
